THE RICE IS RIGHT SHIRT

Come on down — because in the Bronx, The Rice Is Right.

The THE RICE IS RIGHT SHIRT turns Ben Rice’s surname into a direct parody of the classic game-show phrase “The Price Is Right.” Instead of a television contestant or spinning showcase wheel, the design puts Yankees #22 front and center blowing an oversized pink bubble, surrounded by stacked navy-and-white typography reading “the RICE is RIGHT.”

The joke was already circulating around Ben Rice before October. Then he opened the 2026 postseason with one of the biggest offensive games a Yankees hitter has delivered in years.

At that point, the Rice really was right.

Storytelling:

Ben Rice has become almost impossible for Yankees fans to discuss without some kind of rice pun.

“Let Rice Cook.” “Rice Rice Baby.” And, naturally, “The Rice Is Right.”

The last phrase works because it transforms The Price Is Right, one of American television’s most recognizable game-show titles, by changing only one word. “Price” becomes “Rice,” while the rhythm and meaning remain instantly recognizable.

This is not just a random fan invention attached to the artwork. Yankees social media itself used “The Rice is Right” in September 2026, and officially licensed MLBPA merchandise has also leaned into the same Ben Rice wordplay. BreakingT

What makes the concept especially valuable now is the season Rice has put behind it.

Rice finished the 2026 regular season with 41 home runs, 97 RBI, 105 runs and an .897 OPS. He went from being an interesting young Yankees bat to one of the most productive hitters in the lineup. MLB.com

Then Boston came to Yankee Stadium for the Wild Card Series.

In Game 1, Rice went 4-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI as New York demolished the Red Sox 9-0. One of those homers was a grand slam, turning a strong night into a postseason statement. Reuters reported that Rice’s four-hit performance was the Yankees’ first in a playoff game since 2020. Reuters

MLB highlighted another amusing detail behind the breakout: Rice is intensely routine-driven, right down to eating scrambled eggs and avocado toast before games. The calm routine contrasted perfectly with what happened that night — Rice stepped into October and blew the game open. MLB.com

New York followed that victory with a 9-2 win in Game 2, sweeping Boston and advancing to face Tampa Bay in the ALDS. Reuters

So the shirt now carries two layers at once: an established Ben Rice pun and a fresh October reason for Yankees fans to shout it.

Product Description:

The THE RICE IS RIGHT SHIRT – Ben Rice Yankees #22 Bubble Gum Tee uses pop-culture parody rather than a conventional baseball action shot.

Ben Rice’s face appears on the left wearing a navy cap marked 22, immediately identifying the player. Instead of swinging a bat or rounding the bases, he is blowing a large pink bubble.

That bubblegum detail changes the entire mood. It makes Rice look relaxed, youthful and almost like the contestant or host of his own game-show graphic.

Behind and beside him, the phrase is stacked vertically:

“the”
“RICE”
“is”
“RIGHT”

“RICE” receives the largest white lettering, ensuring that the surname and pun dominate the composition.

Visual Interpretation:

The artwork is shown on an athletic-gray shirt base with navy, white and pink as the key colors.

Rice’s face is rendered in a vintage monochrome sports-photo style. His navy baseball cap carries No. 22 in white, identifying him without needing the full “Ben Rice” name printed underneath.

The oversized pink bubble is the only major warm-color element. That gives the viewer an immediate focal point and prevents the otherwise navy-and-gray composition from feeling too serious.

To the right, “RICE” uses huge white outlined block lettering. Smaller navy words surround it to complete “the Rice is Right.”

The typography deliberately echoes retro game-show advertising rather than standard Yankees branding. That is important because the central reference is The Price Is Right, not simply a general Rice joke.
