TAKE OCTOBER SHIRT

October is back in Tampa Bay, and this time the Rays arrived as more than a Wild Card survivor.

The TAKE OCTOBER SHIRT captures the Tampa Bay Rays’ 2026 postseason with a clean powder-blue, navy and white graphic built around oversized TAKE lettering, sweeping October script, a distressed baseball diamond and the interlocking TB mark. It is a team-wide playoff statement for a Rays club that returned to October, reclaimed the AL East and entered the postseason as the American League’s No. 1 seed.

The phrase is part of MLB’s actual 2026 postseason merchandise campaign. MLB Shop lists an official Tampa Bay Rays 2026 MLB Postseason Take October T-Shirt, confirming that the wording belongs directly to this year’s playoff collection. MLB Shop Official Online Store

Storytelling
The Rays’ road back to October makes the design more meaningful than a generic postseason graphic.

After missing the playoffs in each of the previous two seasons, Tampa Bay returned in emphatic fashion. The Rays became the first American League team to clinch a 2026 postseason berth, doing so on September 11 with a victory over Houston. According to MLB, it was the earliest playoff clinch in franchise history. MLB.com

Eleven days later, Tampa Bay secured the AL East championship, its fifth division title in franchise history and first since 2021. That accomplishment also locked up the American League’s No. 1 seed, allowing the Rays to skip the Wild Card round and go directly into the Division Series with home-field advantage. MLB.com

That context changes the emotional meaning of TAKE OCTOBER.

For Tampa Bay, the phrase is not merely “we made the playoffs.” The Rays spent much of the season establishing themselves as one of baseball’s strongest teams. Now the question is whether that regular-season success can finally lead to the championship that has remained out of reach since the franchise’s World Series appearances in 2008 and 2020.

Their first postseason opponent made the challenge even more intense: the New York Yankees, an AL East rival that swept Boston in the Wild Card Series. Reuters

Game 1 immediately gave Rays fans an October moment worth remembering.

Drew Rasmussen carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning, struck out 10 and allowed only one hit over eight frames. Jonathan Aranda supplied the only run with a solo home run, and Tampa Bay shut out New York 1-0 to take the early ALDS lead. Reuters

That performance fits the visual simplicity of this shirt perfectly. No crowded roster collage is necessary. No single player has to dominate the artwork. The design represents the entire team and the challenge in front of it: take control of October.

Product Description
The TAKE OCTOBER SHIRT is a Tampa Bay Rays postseason graphic created around the club’s 2026 playoff run.

Large collegiate-style TAKE lettering fills the upper half of the artwork in shades of Rays blue with dark navy edging. A white handwritten October script crosses through the block typography, balancing traditional baseball styling with a modern postseason look.

Beneath the phrase, a powder-blue baseball diamond frames the interlocking TB mark. Small POSTSEASON lettering above the headline identifies the moment without distracting from the main composition.

The design avoids specific player imagery, which gives it broader meaning across the entire postseason run. It can represent Rasmussen’s Game 1 dominance, Aranda’s home run, the AL East championship and whatever comes next.

Visual Interpretation
The sport-gray shirt base keeps the entire Rays palette visible.

TAKE uses a blue gradient ranging from lighter Tampa Bay tones into deeper navy. White October lettering sits over the top with a long underline extending toward the right edge of the graphic.

Below, the baseball diamond uses bright powder blue, creating the strongest color accent on the shirt. The TB monogram sits in the center in dark navy and blue, immediately grounding the league-wide Take October slogan in Tampa Bay identity.

Small worn marks and splatter textures around the diamond give the graphic a lightly distressed postseason look instead of an overly polished digital finish.
