TAKE IT UP WITH JESUS SHIRT

Some people have an explanation for their questionable decisions. This raccoon has a much simpler answer: take it up with Jesus.

“TAKE IT UP WITH JESUS — HE MADE ME THIS WAY.”

Sitting there in oversized black sunglasses, casually sipping iced coffee through a straw, this raccoon has absolutely no intention of apologizing for its personality. The expression says everything: unbothered, slightly chaotic, and entirely comfortable being itself.

The TAKE IT UP WITH JESUS SHIRT – Raccoon Iced Coffee Meme combines irreverent animal humor with a playful faith-inspired message. Its vintage cream-colored artwork and understated composition make the joke feel effortlessly funny rather than loud or overproduced.

This exact phrase has appeared across contemporary raccoon-themed novelty apparel and graphics, often pairing the joke with sunglasses, coffee, and the animal’s famously mischievous reputation.

Storytelling

A Raccoon With Zero Regrets

Raccoons have developed a special reputation in internet culture.

They’re the little masked troublemakers that investigate trash cans, steal food, wander into places they probably shouldn’t be, and somehow manage to look both adorable and completely guilty.

The internet affectionately calls them trash pandas, turning their natural curiosity into an entire category of animal humor.

This design builds on that familiar personality but adds an unexpected twist.

Instead of showing a raccoon committing some outrageous act, it presents the aftermath: a relaxed animal wearing sunglasses and enjoying a large iced drink.

Whatever happened before this moment, the raccoon clearly doesn’t feel responsible for explaining it.

The caption above provides its defense:

“Take It Up With Jesus.”

And the smaller phrase underneath delivers the finishing line:

“He made me this way.”

The combination turns an ordinary self-acceptance message into a joke about personality, accountability, and being unapologetically yourself.

When Faith Humor Meets Trash Panda Energy

The religious reference is central to understanding the artwork.

“Take it up with Jesus” jokingly redirects questions about someone’s personality to the person who supposedly understands why they were created that way.

“He made me this way” completes the thought, implying that the raccoon’s chaotic tendencies aren’t an accident but part of its original design.

It’s not a direct Bible quotation, nor does the artwork reference a specific biblical passage.

Instead, it uses recognizable Christian language in a lighthearted, conversational way.

The joke works especially well with a raccoon because the animal already has a mischievous reputation. A harmless-looking creature behaving like a rebellious little outlaw is funny on its own. Adding a spiritual explanation makes the situation even more ridiculous.

The sunglasses reinforce that attitude. This raccoon isn’t worried about judgment. It’s already moved on to its next iced coffee.

Why the Coffee Detail Makes the Meme Better

The takeaway cup is more important than it initially appears.

Coffee has become its own everyday internet language, associated with busy mornings, exhaustion, caffeine dependence, and the familiar feeling of needing a little help dealing with people.

Put an iced coffee in the paws of a raccoon, and the animal suddenly seems surprisingly human.

It becomes the friend who arrives late, causes minor chaos, orders an oversized drink, and acts like nothing happened.

That recognizable personality is what makes the graphic memorable.

The joke isn’t dependent on a celebrity, current news event, or complicated cultural reference. It’s built around an attitude many people instantly recognize.

The precise original creator of the phrase hasn’t been reliably established, but raccoon-and-coffee interpretations have circulated through online apparel and novelty-art marketplaces.

The shirt captures that blend of sarcastic humor, faith-inspired wording, and internet animal culture without needing an elaborate illustration.

It’s a wearable expression of chaotic-good energy for anyone who enjoys raccoon memes, coffee culture, and having the last word without actually arguing.

Visual Interpretation

The artwork relies on vintage styling and the raccoon’s unmistakable personality.

Upper typography: “TAKE IT UP WITH JESUS” appears in cream-colored, bold italic serif lettering, creating a retro slogan-shirt appearance.

Central character: A realistically illustrated raccoon sits casually with its legs stretched forward. Its dark facial markings, detailed fur, and oversized pointed sunglasses establish its mischievous personality.

Coffee detail: The raccoon holds a beige takeaway cup with a lid and straw, apparently enjoying an iced coffee while ignoring the world around it.

Lower typography: “he made me this way” appears in a softer handwritten script, contrasting with the assertive upper slogan.

Colorways: The navy version gives the design a subdued vintage aesthetic, while the black version creates stronger contrast with the cream-colored illustration.

A rough horizontal brushstroke beneath the animal adds texture without distracting from the character.
