NATHAN FUCKIN’ MACKINNON SHIRT

“Nathan Fuckin’ MacKinnon” is not the kind of phrase Colorado fans say quietly.

The NATHAN FUCKIN’ MACKINNON SHIRT turns that full-volume fan language into a two-sided Avalanche statement. The front gives Nathan MacKinnon’s name the treatment usually reserved for a chant; flip it around and the punchline arrives in giant lettering: “BITCH IT’S AN AVALANCHE!”

It is part player tribute, part Colorado hockey battle cry and part internet-era Avs humor — exactly the kind of design that makes more sense the louder MacKinnon’s game gets.

Storytelling:

Nathan MacKinnon entered the 2026–27 season coming off another enormous year. He scored a career-high 53 goals and finished the 2025–26 regular season with 127 points in 80 games, while Colorado won the Presidents’ Trophy. He then added seven goals and 15 points during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. NHL

Then Colorado opened the new season by reminding everyone what an Avalanche game can look like when the offense starts rolling.

On September 30, MacKinnon scored twice as Colorado overwhelmed Los Angeles 8–4 at Ball Arena. The game also produced one of opening week’s most replayed moments when MacKinnon dropped the gloves with Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke after an exchange between them. Fan discussion immediately leaned into the familiar idea of MacKinnon switching into a more aggressive mode whenever somebody manages to irritate him. Reuters

Two nights later, Colorado hammered St. Louis 6–1, with MacKinnon contributing three assists. The Avalanche had opened the year with 14 goals in two games, making the back-of-shirt declaration — “Bitch It’s An Avalanche!” — feel especially well timed as an exaggerated description of what happens when Colorado’s attack starts piling up. But the front phrase has a deeper piece of MacKinnon fan culture behind it.

MacKinnon has a genuine connection to Trailer Park Boys, the cult Nova Scotia comedy closely associated with the same Halifax-area culture he grew up around. He appeared as himself in Season 11 in 2017, with the Avalanche’s own site noting that the episode involved MacKinnon helping at a hockey school. He later appeared in Trailer Park Boys: The Animated Series. NHL

That animated appearance includes the line “Nathan fucking MacKinnon” as he enters the hockey game, and Avalanche fans have continued repeating variations of the phrase for years. A Colorado fan discussion about the cameo even describes being unable to hear MacKinnon’s name without mentally saying it in Bubbles’ voice. Clip.Cafe

So the front is more than random profanity attached to a famous player. It fits an existing overlap between MacKinnon, Nova Scotia comedy culture and the way Avalanche fans talk about their superstar when he takes over a game.

The back then converts the player-specific setup into a team-wide payoff.

Nathan Fuckin’ MacKinnon.

Bitch, it’s an Avalanche.

That front-to-back progression is the entire joke.

Product Description:

The NATHAN FUCKIN’ MACKINNON SHIRT is a two-sided Colorado hockey design built around MacKinnon’s reputation for explosive scoring, physical intensity and the unfiltered language that follows him through Avs fan culture.

Rather than using a photograph, jersey portrait or complicated hockey illustration, the design relies entirely on typography. That makes the phrases themselves the collectible element.

The front works as the player identifier. The back expands it into Avalanche identity.

It is especially suited to the beginning of the 2026–27 season because Colorado immediately opened with two dominant offensive performances, while MacKinnon’s two-goal, fight-filled opener gave the phrase fresh context rather than leaving it as a recycled player slogan.

Visual Interpretation:

The design uses a dark navy base that naturally aligns with Colorado Avalanche colors without needing an official logo.

Across the front, “NATHAN FUCKIN’ MACKINNON” appears in three stacked lines. The letters are light gray with a thin red outline, creating a clear Colorado-inspired navy, gray and red palette. The condensed block typography makes the phrase feel more like a shouted arena chant than a traditional nameplate.

The reverse side deliberately changes style.

“BITCH” sits huge across the shoulder blades, followed by “IT’S AN” and an even wider “AVALANCHE!” beneath it. The letters are solid light gray with no illustration around them, allowing the statement to occupy almost the entire upper back.

That difference gives the two sides separate jobs: the front names the player; the back delivers the punchline.
