IT’S TIME FOR DINOSAUR BASEBALL SHIRT

They called the Dodgers dinosaurs. Los Angeles decided to turn the joke into an entire baseball team.

The IT’S TIME FOR DINOSAUR BASEBALL SHIRT transforms the Dodgers’ viral October 2026 nickname into a lineup of adorable cartoon dinosaurs wearing player-numbered baseball caps.

From Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, Kiké Hernández, and Teoscar Hernández, the artwork turns a real Dodgers-Padres rivalry moment into a playful tribute to Los Angeles baseball.

Storytelling:

The Dodgers dinosaur phenomenon began with an unexpected comment from San Diego Padres co-owner José E. Feliciano on October 1, 2026.

While speaking with reporters, Feliciano remarked that Dodgers owner Mark Walter owned numerous dinosaurs. A reporter wondered whether he meant dinosaurs playing on the field.

The joke quickly took on another meaning because Los Angeles had an experienced, veteran-heavy roster. Some interpreted it as a criticism of the Dodgers’ age.

However, Feliciano was actually referring to Walter’s collection of dinosaur fossils, not directly insulting the players. That distinction became part of the humor.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts embraced the interpretation anyway, expressing affection for his veteran players and their ability to perform in important games.

The nickname gained an even stronger identity following Los Angeles’ 2026 National League Division Series victory over Atlanta.

On October 7, Andy Pages delivered a crucial two-run single in Game 4, helping the Dodgers defeat the Braves 4–1 and advance to the NLCS.

During the clubhouse celebration, Roberts spoke about his team’s intelligence, strength, and toughness. Teoscar Hernández interrupted with the now-memorable addition: “And we’re dinosaurs!”

The spontaneous comment became a hit among Dodgers supporters. Fans discussed dinosaur-themed shirts, player cartoons, Jurassic Park references, and the possibility of turning the nickname into a postseason rallying identity.

Suddenly, being called dinosaurs was no longer something Los Angeles needed to explain away.

The joke worked because it reversed the original implication. Dinosaurs might suggest age, but they also represent enormous creatures that once dominated the planet.

For Dodgers fans, the image of veteran stars as baseball-playing dinosaurs became a humorous symbol of experience, personality, and continued postseason ambition.

The design captures that moment by reimagining the roster as a friendly prehistoric baseball squad, with each character carrying the jersey number of a recognizable Los Angeles player.

Product Description:

The It’s Time For Dinosaur Baseball Shirt combines the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2026 postseason identity with a crowded, cartoon-style dinosaur roster illustration.

A group of smiling prehistoric creatures wears baseball caps numbered after Dodgers players. The royal-blue background and cream-colored artwork create a vintage team-merchandise appearance, while the arched “DINOSAUR BASEBALL” lettering provides a nostalgic collegiate feel.

The graphic features different dinosaur species and personalities rather than repeating a single mascot. Long-necked dinosaurs, grinning reptiles, spiked creatures, and a flying pterosaur create the impression of an entire prehistoric baseball clubhouse.

It is a humorous celebration of the Dodgers’ adopted dinosaur identity, not a statement about the players’ actual ages or an official new team name.

Visual Interpretation:

The artwork appears across the upper front of a royal-blue shirt in a primarily cream-colored, monochrome illustration.

At the top, elegant script reads “It’s Time For,” followed by oversized, arched “DINOSAUR” lettering and a smaller “BASEBALL” headline.

A small hexagonal “DINO” badge sits to the left. Above the main wordmark, a flying dinosaur wearing a cap numbered 8 adds another playful detail.

Below, a densely arranged group of cartoon dinosaurs wears player-numbered caps.

Recognizable numbers include #17 for Shohei Ohtani, #18 for Yoshinobu Yamamoto, #50 for Mookie Betts, #5 for Freddie Freeman, #13 for Max Muncy, #37 for Teoscar Hernández, #29 for Tarik Skubal, #7 for Blake Snell, #31 for Tyler Glasnow, and #44 for Andy Pages.

Other visible numbers include #11, #23, #25, #51, #59, #60, #66, #72, and #95, expanding the illustrated roster beyond the biggest stars.

The dinosaurs feature exaggerated smiles, oversized eyes, tiny arms, long necks, sharp teeth, and different body shapes. The crowded arrangement resembles a vintage team photograph reimagined as a prehistoric cartoon.
